The Crown Chakra, known in Sanskrit as Sahasrara, is the centre of spiritual connection, higher consciousness, and universal wisdom. It is the chakra that unifies all the energy centres below it, linking the physical body with the infinite universe and the deeper truth of who we really are.
Often depicted as a thousand‑petalled lotus, Sahasrara represents the unfolding of spiritual awareness, a blossoming into the understanding that we are both individual and part of the whole, like a dreamer awakening to realise that everything perceived is an expression of their own consciousness.
Sahasrara means “thousandfold”, symbolising the vastness of spiritual knowledge and the limitless nature of consciousness.
Although often imagined as opening upward, the lotus petals traditionally droop downward, like a sunflower, dripping nectar into the crown and down through the chakras, a reminder that divine energy flows into us, nourishing every part of our being.
