In these uncertain times, many of us feel called to pause, reflect and reconnect with where we are on our life path. When the world feels unsteady, returning to our foundations becomes essential. The Root/Base Chakra (Muladhara) is our energetic anchor — the centre of grounding, safety, stability and connection to the Earth.
Reconnecting with this chakra helps us feel supported, embodied and able to move through life with confidence and clarity.
Beginning Your Root Chakra Practice
Take a few quiet moments to connect with your Root/Base Chakra:
- Close your eyes and visualise a spinning ball of vibrant red energy at the base of your spine.
- Feel this red light pulsing and expanding through your pelvis, hips, legs, feet and toes.
- Allow it to rise through your abdomen, spine, shoulders, chest and lungs.
- Let it flow down your arms into your hands and fingers, filling every cell with grounding, nurturing energy.
- Finally, let it rise into your neck, head and face, surrounding your whole being in a bubble of radiant red light.
Rest within this energy for a few minutes. When you feel complete, take a deep breath and gently return to the room.
Understanding the Root/Base Chakra (Muladhara)
The Root Chakra governs:

Rebalancing begins with reconnecting to Earth energy. Supportive practices include:

- mindful presence and gratitude
These simple acts bring you back into your body and into the present moment.
